Over the past two weeks, I competed in two more Pro Golf Tour events in Belgium, at Hulencourt and Claydael. Two very different tournaments, with a made cut and some particularly challenging playing conditions, giving me more valuable experience on the professional circuit.
Hulencourt: Making the cut and finishing 35th
The first tournament took place at Golf de Hulencourt, where I successfully made the cut after shooting two opening rounds of even par.
Despite playing some solid golf, things didn’t always go my way, and a few missed opportunities prevented me from climbing higher up the leaderboard.
The final round proved more challenging, but I still managed to finish in a respectable 35th place.
An encouraging result, with the satisfaction of making another cut on the Pro Golf Tour, even though I would have liked to make more of my opportunities.
Claydael: Extremely challenging playing conditions
Next up was Golf de Claydael for another event on the tour.
This time, the conditions were particularly difficult. Heavy rainfall in the days leading up to the tournament had significantly affected the course, forcing the competition to be played over just 17 holes.
The greens were in very different conditions from one another, making it especially difficult to adapt and find consistency with my putting.
Unfortunately, I struggled to make the necessary adjustments throughout the tournament. Mentally, I wasn’t fully engaged either, which made dealing with these challenges even harder.
A disappointing performance, but one that highlighted some important areas for improvement, particularly my ability to adapt quickly to changing course conditions and maintain a positive mindset when things aren’t going as planned.
Qualification secured for the Pro Golf Tour finale
Despite these two contrasting weeks, there is some great news to take away from my time in Belgium: I have officially qualified for the Pro Golf Tour season finale!
The final event of the season will take place in two weeks, once again at Golf de Hulencourt.
A fantastic opportunity to finish my first professional season on a positive note and put all the experience I’ve gained throughout the year into practice.
Until then, it’s time to get back to work and prepare as well as possible for the final tournament of the season!
